Firework Legislation

Fireworks are a wonderful display of beauty and earth shaking noise. In the right hands they can help us express joy and celebration. New rules have come into existance to address anti social behavior and selling period restrictions. Rules include:
- The banning of air bombs and nuisance rockets
- New, restricted selling periods (from 1 January 2005)
- Proper accountability for firework importers
- Possession of fireworks by under 18s illegal
- 11pm to 7am curfew (Except New Year’s Eve)
- Maximum noise levels for fireworks.
Those in charge of enforcing these rules are the Police & Trading Standards. The focus on these new rules is less on product safety, due to high safety standars already in place and a decrease in firework incidence, and focus more on anti social behavior issues by persons under age 18. The maximum fine for breaking these laws in £5,000 fee or 6 months imprisonment. It is recommended that customers buy from a licensed retailer such as www.superstarsfireworks.com

I don’t want to be a killjoy; I love the visual display of fireworks, but each year I see the traumatic effect the noise has on my dog and those of other dog, cat, horse and other pets and livestock owners.
Superstarsfireworks.com is a business and has to make a profit, but I won’t be the only grateful person if you and others in your industry vigorously develop and market “Noise Free” fireworks.
Quite a challenge as macho men try to outdo each other in the loudness stakes, but I’d bet you can do it.
Thanks for letting me post this comment.
